Personal Information
Tax Identification Numbers are mandatory items on your checklist. All taxpayers will need the following to do their taxes.
- Full Name of the Tax Payer
- Social Security Number (SSN) / Individual Tax Identification Number ( ITIN )
- Current Address ( including Street, City, State and ZIP )
- Date of Birth
- Occupation
- Identity Protection PIN, if one has been issued to you, your spouse, or your dependent by the IRS
- Spouse’s full name, SSN / ITIN, Occupation, and date of birth ( If Married filing Jointly or Separately)
- Routing and account numbers for direct deposit/payment
Dependent(s) Information
Parents and caregivers should gather this information as they review what they need to file their taxes.
- Full Name of each dependent
- SSN / ITIN / Adoption Tax ID (ATIN)
- Relationship to the Tax Payer
- Date of Birth for each dependent
- Child care expenses if any (including provider's tax ID number)
- Income of dependents and of other adults in your home
- Form 8332 if applicable (releasing right to claim child)
